THE ANTLER BAG

Angéline is renowned for creating ‘The Antler Bag’, an ode to natural armour, Scottish heritage and an exploration of life after death in using all parts of animal to reduce waste. Materials that would otherwise have been discarded are treated and fused together into something unique.

The first iteration of the bag was developed in January 2025 as part of Evangeline’s final BA collection at UAL, exploring icons such as Yves Saint Laurent’s ‘Mombasa’ and the intention to create a bag that could be ‘armour’. With limited resources, the bag was created using only hand-stitching and an industrial sewing machine. Angéline had previously produced a sheepskin bag, made in May 2024, featuring a linen crossbody strap, inspiring the main body for The Antler Bag.

The original bag features a sun-bleached deer antler found in Braemar, Scotland by family, who were kind enough to allow the antler to be used as part of the creative process.

In January 2026, Angéline completed a custom patchwork bag for Grammy-winning and multi-disciplinary artist, FKA Twigs.

Newer iterations of the bag have included antlers responsibly sourced from Richmond Park, London [not affiliated], following culling season. Culling is an essential process involving cutting the deer antlers to reduce disease, protect biodiversity and prevent environmental damage to contribute to a healthier eco-system. Angéline believes in transparency, and will include the story behind all materials used.

Leather and sheepskin counterparts are all Deadstock and bi-products of the meat industry, repurposed and re-developed into a wearable piece made to last.

Original bag features a calf leather base, linen body and sheepskin hide flap to open with an inside pocket. This can be loaned upon request.

Newer iterations are made using calf leather, sewn together in patchwork and hand-stitched contrast stitching, with a full, linen-lined inside and sheepskin hide flap to close (reference image below).
